With a population of close to a quarter of a million people, the city of Burnaby continues to be a very centralized area to the Greater Vancouver Regional District. The community in North Burnaby known as The Heights was built by early British settlers in the very early 1900’s. North of Hastings Street the community grew and thrived and is now home to many heritage homes that have been cared for and refurbished to meet the needs of today’s generations. The area has also become known for its deep rooted merchants offering cultural specialties, some of the city’s best restaurants, as well as other specialty stores.
Although minutes away from downtown Vancouver The Heights is easily accessible throughout the week with easy to find parking and continues to not only maintain but expand its diverse shopping opportunities.
In addition to its long standing sense of community The Heights has also become known for annual events such as Hats Off Day, Halloween on the Heights and Light up the Heights.
